What is a wet-set and how do you do kinky twists?

For a few days now, I've been trying to go natural with my hair for the first time for three reasons. The first reason is using a flat iron to make my hair straight all the time, does nothing but give me a lot of split ends. Second my hair is not meant to be straight and I just need to learn to accept it for how it is.Third, straight hair styles just don't work for my face shape. The type of natural hair style I want is kinky twists but I don't know how you can do it yourself, becuase I can't afford to go to a beauty salon to get it done. Also I read in a blck hair magazine or a natural beauty magazine that for natural hair styles, wet-setting is the nautral alternative and that its better than using a flat iron. So far I'm using olive oil products for my hair, because my hair is extremly thick and somewhat damaged, and I'm also trying to use as less heat on my hair as possible or better yet no heat at all.

Wet setting is when you set your hair with rollers while its set, its also a roller set but i think they call it wet set too(not to sure about this answer). Kinky twists are something to be done by a professional, you can try and do them yourself but they take a while and if you get frustrated easily than its not something I would do alone.
