I've experimented with lotions, soap, gel, wax doesn't work, it only takes about 20% of hair off. Nair, etc. does same, it doesn't remove hair, and it burns off layer of skin, follow directions! I've bought everything from the epilady, to pulling out hair with tweezers, one blade, 2-4 blades, mens and womens razors, electric, dry shave, wet shave, hot cold, sometimes I have razor burn, or bumps on upper inner thighs bikini area, after I shave the next day my hair is already 2-3 mm long, and my legs itch like crazy, especially if I have to wear pants. My parents weren't much help with birds and bees, etc. I never learned any girl stuff from Mom and no sisters, and wasn't allowed to go to football games, hang out with friends, so where do you learn from, read magazines also. I wasn't allowed to date until 22. Some background on me. Please tell me what brand of razor or whatever, and lotion, how to prep, deal with itching? my hair grows fast, thick, long, bikini zone? Dont want fur:)

Geez, and I thought I was sheltered.
Use sensitive skin razor like the Gillette Venus Razor, with Sensitive Skin Shaving Cream. Don't use cheap razors, they will give you razor burn, shave your legs after you shower the hair will be softer. Almost every girl/woman shaves everyday because hair just grows so fast. Your will get use to the itching and all that. But I shave almost everyday.
Bikini, Tough it up and get it waxed...

take ibuprofen before you shave and don't do it around that you know what time it can be more sensitive
put vaseline on your legs try nads or the Mach 3 razors
for bikini area use the Nair or Neet or hair remover for difficult hair leave it on for a really long time you could use this all over your body but it would be expensive to me i mean you would have to buy a lot of it all the time
put vaseline on the area after you do that and then like lotion with AHAs in it some brands call it skin smoothing lotion after you shave this keeps hair bumps down
you could shave with something called magic shave it is in the ETHNIC section of like Wal Mart, Target, the grocery store, etc has a black man on it it would help you greatly if you dont mind to buy it
if you can afford it go to the shop you can go to one that is not expensive dont worry they are not that expensive it may be worth it
especially if you are going to do a Brazilian wax i dont think you should do this at home
just make sure the beauty shop sanitizes their tools and areas well and they have the health code thing out okay?
you can even have people come and do this for you it is not THAT expensive and it is worth it believe me
online you can buy permanent removal things but be careful go to amazon and put in your search engine
those tiny personal electric shaver things that cost like $10 are good for facial hair if you have it
you also have to deal with the fact this stuff will happen you willl never be totally comfortable you pay this price to be beautiful

Ohhh, sounds like you were sheltered. As far as shaving goes, I've never had the problem of fast-growing, thick hair BUT I do like to be very smooth after I shave. My favorite place to shave is in a hot bath. For me, a hot bath helps to decrease irritation after shaving. As far as accoutrementes, I never have liked shave gels, lotions, etc. I use a natural tea tree oil soap made by Jason. It's available at Wild Oats %26amp; other health food stores. Also, I hate those little moisturizing strips on razors. IMHO, they put a layer of goo on your skin that keeps the razor from getting as close as possible. I have found that I like my husbands razor best. He uses the top of the line gillette. A bit expensive but worth it if your concern is closeness. It does have one of those moisturizing strips but I just pick it off. To get a smooth shave, I usually end up shaving two to three times. That may sound excessive, but that's just what it takes for me. As for the bikini area, I think the best way to go is a wax. That answers your specific shaving question. As far as the general ramifications of being sheltered, I think the best way to shed some light on these areas is to look for tips. You can look, as you said, at magazines, online, go to beauty counters at your local mall, etc. Don't let the cosmetic girls intimidate you. I've found many of them to be very snooty but just go do what you need to do and don't be afraid to ask for directions on applying makeup, colors, varieties for your skin type, etc. Good luck %26amp; don't give up!

go to an experienced waxer!!! it gets all the hair and takes longer to come back than shaving or nair. and you can ask the waxer all these questions, they should have the answers as far as this goes! good luck!

I understand. There are so many products and ways to get rid of unwanted hair out there that it can be a bit overwhelming. The best way to get rid of hair at your bikini area is laser hair removal. It is a bit expensive (about $500 for 5 treatments), but all you will need are about 5 treatments...EVER. My bikini area, like yours, is VERY sensitive, and I tried waxing (ouch...and can get to be expensive doing it every few weeks). Shaving left me with bumps, too. I decided to invest in laser heir removal and I am very pleased with my results!
When you shave your legs, with sensitive skin, use shaving cream or gel. It will act as a barrier between your legs and the razor. Use warm water, lather up the shaving cream, and shave. Don't press too hard, especially when you are first breaking in your razor. It doesn't matter what kind of shaving cream or gel you choose to use. I have found that expensive razors do work better and last longer rather than the disposable ones. Lotion up as soon as you are done shaving.
Many people swear by Nair, but it sounds like your skin is too sensitive. And once again, waxing hurts. You might want to try shaving daily in the shower.
Look into laser hair removal. I promise you that it is an excellent investment and you will be thrilled with the results. Start on your bikini area and then try other parts (imagine never having to shave your underarms again!!!).

Hi:
First, be the lady you are and change your log-in name to something like Ms. Peachfuzz. You are special.
There閳ユ獨 more to this than just shaving閳ワ腹鈧?br>
Forget experimenting. You should visit salons in your area (and don't be driven by low price - you are seeking an education and quality service - you're worth it, girly-girl). Learn what you can about services offered. Get a bikini wax regularly. Forget shaving - it's hard, and waxing - though periodically painful - is a very neat, clean and visually attractive style.
Finally - why do you think they have all those babes at the Department Store cosmetic counters? Yes, to sell product, but also to advise. You don閳ユ獩 have to buy anything to ask, and you will usually find the nicer, more mature salespersons want you to be successful and beautiful. They will help you to make the change. They even have make-over sessions it eh store, on occasion. Listen to the marketing line from different companies, try some different products, and learn to do the things you need to do.
Stop wearing drab stuff. Make two day a week 'girly day' at work or wherever. Dresses, hose, make-up 閳?full combat gear, dear.. Practice, grasshopper and you will find that you are attracting not only men (whoo-hoo) but girly-girls that will help you, too.
Spend less time with people that don閳ユ獩 take pride in themselves 閳?relatives %26amp; husbands/boyfriends included. You are starting to want to make the change, so do what you need to do to feel happier, healthy and more the way you want to be. It閳ユ獨 easy! Ah, you are a babe!
Never forget - this external change you seek is really reflective of other internal changes you desire. There閳ユ獨 something positive going on in your life 閳?nurture it.
